If you see an error message about the printer software not being installed correctly then this is an issue with permissions of the installed driver. My guess is that it is a quite small workcenter for their engineers to cope with.

This setup allows me to print through the network and presumably to scan also. Sep 5, I spent four hours going through all the processes outlined by apple, including reinstalling the drivers from the disc and from the web, installing the rest of the printer drivers from the leopard installation disc and rosettaand trying to use the generic drivers. I have a work-around as I'm also running a backup drive still using Leopard and can restart from this for printing purposes.
