Don't know if that detection problem is only in bios at boot up, though it might be intermitent, since the question says "sometimes". And yes I have tried another floppy drive but it had no effect. I did use an ide drive - windows installed ok then after k8-e in the raid software I set up my raid 0 - windows recognised it and I now have a c drive rais 60gb [ide] and a d drive of gb [2 x gb sata drives] The only problem I have now is how to transfer the os from c to d so that I can remove the ide drive. During set up with the Nvidia controller in use there are two drivers on the floppy, raid and then controller, when selected both appear to load in turn, by that I mean that there is audible and visual indication from the floppy, and at the bottom of the screen it says 'loading nvraid.

I have one more SATA drive not installed. Follow us on Twitter! If I disable raid in bios, put a single disk on either controller then windows will install on that disk with no problems. As for 2 my knowledge on sata is limited so I cant really comment. That means if one drive dies, the other drive will contain k8nn-e correct up-to-date data and you will have no downtime.
